Lake County Teachers Get 21000 Bonus For 1932 33 Service
Lake county school teachers and bus contractors received a 21000 bonus last Friday from the Board of Public Instruction and County Superintendent D. H. Moore as appreciation for faithful service and for taking salary cuts in 1932 and 1933. The bonus is about 10 percent of each teacher’s annual salary, despite nine months terms and a state surplus of 21000 available only for teachers and transportation. The school board and superintendent say the money is for those who served this year and their sacrifices in prior years.
