Family reunion and church youth choir events noted
Forty years ago on July 25 1935 Mr and Mrs W L Story and son Warren returned from a southern Georgia trip to attend a family reunion at Acorn Pond Church near Warwick. Miss Delphia Norman organized a junior choir for the Baptist Church with Miss Jean Hendrie hosting rehearsal. Attendees included Miss Hendrie Norman Galloway Chapman Beasley Grantham Gray Thompson Lotz and Dooley among others. Glenn Milton Chapman Don Kimball Richard Shipes Jr and Bobby Widmer spent a week at Daytona Beach with further plans for Glenn to visit St Petersburg.

Mount Dora's first WAVE Ossie Ginther honored
Thirty years ago Ossie G. Ginther joined the U.S. Navy and is now stationed at the U S Naval Training Station Bronx NY as Miss Ossie Ginther honor graduate class of 38 Mount Dora High School Her husband serves in the Army and she answered the war effort. Captain John McCown wed Evelyn Jane Scott in Trinity Temple Methodist Church then went to Fort Sill OK. Willis McCall pledged to purge slot machines and has begun seizing and destroying them under County Judge A S Herlong Jr’s orders.
