Martin Installed At Men's Garden Club Mount Dora

A. V. Martin was elected president of the Men's Garden Club of Mount Dora at the latest monthly meeting. The club plans landscaping of the new croquet courts in Gilbert Park and named committee chairs for the year including C. G. Shadinger and Harry Arters. The group has about 200 members with 100 attending on average, meeting the second Monday each month at the Community Building. gardening men are invited to join.

National 4-H Club Week Set For March 2 9

President Kennedy will proclaim National 4-H Club Week from March 2 through March 9. About two million 4-H members nationwide will take part in programs and activities with media support from radio TV and newspapers. Mount Dora Bible School 4-H Club organized three bulletin board displays two downtown posters exhibits in a shopping center store and a 30 minute PTA program scheduled for March 11.

Judges To Give Many Awards At Flower Show

Community members plan to attend the Lake County Flower Show at Eustis Fairgrounds starting Monday March 11. Judges will award prizes before showings open, with blue ribbons and numerous special honors including Tricolor Award Award of Distinction Award of Merit Gold Seal Junior Achievement Award and Sweepstakes Award for top blue ribbon winners across horticulture and artistic design divisions.

Hearings Set for Law Violators in Tallahassee

Prominent Mount Dora dealer William Wingler dies at 72

William P. Wingler, 72, longtime Mount Dora businessman and Kiwanis president, died at his home after a lengthy illness. Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Rehbaum Funeral Home with interment in Pine Forest Cemetery. Survived by wife Flora two sons William T. and Woodrow J. and two grandchildren. Wingler led real estate and insurance operations for over 22 years and actively supported Boy Scouts and local civic groups.

The Lake County Savings Bond committee led by H. B. Harrell Sr. launches a countywide drive inviting every family to buy at least one United States Savings Bond in 1963. Bonds through payroll savings, over the counter, or tax refunds count toward the goal with credits to organizations. January 1963 saw Lake Countians purchase $102,156 in E Bonds, a 50 percent rise over 1962, while Florida totals fell 23 percent from January 1962.

Tax Assessor to Visit Mount Dora for Exemptions

County tax assessor R G Cassady will tour Lake County towns in March to help residents file homestead widow and disability exemptions and property tax returns for 1963. In Mount Dora he will be at City Hall on March 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Forms must be filed by April 1. An itinerary listing all dates and times is published elsewhere.
