Floridaland Offers Special Rates for Schools and Clubs

Floridaland, near US 41 at Osprey between Sarasota and Venice, offers school and group rates effective immediately. Schools pay less than half the regular admission. clubs receive a 15 percent rebate when they pay full price. Ten attractions include a western town porpoise show deer park and Indian Village. Eugene Hopkins Jr. of Tangerine Florida has been promoted to airman second class at Columbus AFB Mississippi. He serves as an administrative specialist in a unit supporting the Strategic Air Command mission to keep ballistic missiles and jet bombers on constant alert. He graduated from Phyliss Wheatley High School in Apopka Florida.

Graduate Specialist Program Opens To Army Enlistees

High school graduates or soon to graduate are invited to enlist in the United States Army under the Graduate Specialist program. Sgt. Kenneth Hill will counsel at the Mount Dora Post Office on Thursdays 2 to 3 pm about selecting a technical specialty. The program lets recruits choose a first and two alternate courses and may offer overseas service. completing a course at a modern Army service school promises promotion and higher future pay.

Iowa Senator To Speak On Lincoln Day Dinner

The Hon. Jack Miller, Republican Senator from Iowa, will be the featured speaker at Lake County Lincoln Day dinner on Saturday February 13 at 6 30 p m at the Christian Home and Bible School. Miller is a tax lawyer and farm tax writer, co author of the Prentice Hall Tax Ideas Service and editor on the Journal of Taxation. He sits on key Senate committees and has held roles in the IRS and academia. Reservations for the dinner may follow.
