Youth Rally Planned At First Baptist Church
The Lake County Baptist Association will host its first youth rally Saturday at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Open to single youths ages 13 to 24. Steve Bilkerson of Stetson University will speak, with music by Central Baptist Church Leesburg and Ken Steele directing. Plans for future programs were also announced.

The 1965 Chamber membership drive begins with a breakfast on February 11 at 8 a.m. in the Villa Dora Hotel. Chair Al Rehbaum Jr. aims for 100 new memberships and a $1,000 increase to fund a scenic Mount Dora highway sign rather than a standard directional sign. Nine Building Permits Issued In January
City issued nine building permits in January totaling 22 250 dollars. Building Inspector John Cain reported. In January 1964 nine permits were issued with a total valuation of 59 700 dollars and no new homes were started that month, Cain said.

City Council approved spending 15 794.69 for a bucket truck to maintain utility lines and aid tree trimming. State figures show unemployment at 66,100 in December 1964, the lowest since 1957, with 3.1 percent of the labor force unemployed, the smallest December rate since 1956. Nonfarm employment rose to a record 1,569,500 for the month.
