Six Jailed After Moonshine Raid In East Town Area
A weekend raid by State Beverage Department, Lake County deputies, and Mount Dora officers led to six East Town residents being jailed in Tavares. Arrested were Randolph Coleman for possession of home brew, Catherine McKay and Mattie Derry for moonshine possession, Equilla Bailey and May Sistrunck for home brew possession, and Flora Adams for possession of home brew. One gallon and a five gallon jug of moonshine were seized. additional home brew in bottles was found and destroyed. The raid occurred Sunday morning.
