John P. Snell 69 of Mount Dora died Saturday December 9 after a residence in the area since 1960s birth in Dale County Alabama Survivors include two sons Jim and Vaughn Snell Mount Dora three daughters Mrs Dick Lebre Orlando Mrs Lorraine Jones Cleveland Ohio and Mrs Dick Johnson Cleveland Ohio one brother Bill Snell Mount Dora two sisters Mrs Gertie Kimball Tavares and Mrs Ira Mae Merck Atlanta ten grandchildren and oral nieces and nephews Services were held Tuesday December at Rehbaum Harden Funeral Home with David Coffield officiating burial Pine Forest Cemetery
Florida Central Academy Receives All Electric Building Award
Florida Central Academy President Colonel L. E. Allen accepted the bronze plaque on behalf of the academy as part of the All-Electric Building Award program now in nationwide use. The honor requires meeting seven criteria including full electrical heating and cooling, adequate hot water, and energy efficient cooking and lighting.

Florida Fuel Use Sets Record Mark
Florida highway users consumed a record 2.55 billion gallons of motor fuel in 1967, per the Florida Petroleum Council. Executive Director Chris L. Jensen notes a 5.0 percent rise from 1966 and that a 7 cent per gallon levy would yield about 183.499 million dollars for the state. He adds federal 4 cent tax revenue is not included and cites prior non-highway uses of highway-user taxes. Figures come from the U S Bureau of Public Roads.
