Four votes separate Mount Dora council race after recount
In Mount Dora a recount narrowed the council race to four votes between Fred Compton and Alfred Rehbaum with 409 to 405 after adjustments. Incumbent L. Thomas Houser and Sam L. The Mount Dora Christmas Window Decorating Contest was judged Friday night December 8 by the Lakes and Hill Garden Club from the Downtown Merchants Association. In the large window category Florida Telephone Corporation won first, Sally's Dress Shop second, Rehbaum's Hardware third. In the small window category Mount Dora Topic first, Hollenbeck's TV second, Fisher's Photo Music third, Groves Jeweler's honorable mention. Decorated windows included businesses from the RR bridge crossing Highland Street to the corner of 4th Street.
