Eight contestants are introduced for the Mount Airy Jaycee beauty pageant Miss June Good and others. Profiles include parentage, hometowns, heights, weights, hair and eye color, with talents in singing dancing piano baton twirling or exhibitions noted for each contestant.
A 2 o clock Friday pageant parade forms in front of the YMCA, travels Cherry and Main to Surry Sales, with contestants atop convertibles. Local Jaycees sponsor, joined by Mount Airy bands, ponies, Scouts, and fire department. A 6 p.m dinner at the Blue Ridge Hotel honors contestants and judges.
