Lavaca County group to attend Houston Fat Stock Show
Lavaca County will send a group of 4-H and FFA members to the 1945 Houston Fat Stock Show and Livestock Exposition. Houlton teacher William Lee Young will bring 91 FFA members for FFA and FHA Day on February 7. Hallettsville leaders Joe H. Rothe and others will bring 159 4-H members for 4-H Day on January 31 and 71 FFA members with Mary Elizabeth Yarling for FFA and FHA Day on February 7.

Texas Schools Paid 13 500 by State
State war rants totaling 13 587 063 40 were released Monday in the fourth payment of per capita school funds for 1946 47. The $9 per capita on 1 509 685 scholastics brings total to 14 per capita paid against a 55 per capita total. Dr L A Woods says another per capita payment will be made in February. All payments come from the available school fund.
