Moravia council and boosters plan 1947 street upgrades

In Moravia the council members O C Easter Paul Spencer Wm Gardner Don Wolf and Ivan Walters with the Booster Club outlined a year of progress. Fourteen new street lights cost 1200 to be turned off at midnight while residential areas stay lit. A road program will cover 54 percent of rock and oil for 8000 to create blacktop streets. The Union Farmerettes 4-H met at Paris girls with Melinda Hull leading the pledge. Officers reported no treasury figures. roll call tallied ten members, five guests, one leader. Old business covered county Legion, new business set April 19 trash pickup from Hulls to Unionville. Delegates Brenda Kelley, Sherri Hinote to state conference. Science Club Elects Offiers for 76 77 School Year

Moravia High School students in the science club elected Alan Tisue as president Randy White head as ice president Susan Spencer secretary treasurer and Lonna Rolin reporter. They conducted their first meeting April 20 and discussed activities and fund raising plans for expansion next year.
