Season for Bass Opened May 26 with No Length Limit
The 1956 season for large mouth and smallmouth bass opens at midnight May 26 and runs through February 18, 1957 with a five fish daily limit and a ten fish possession limit. For the first time in years there is no length limit on black bass in Iowa. The former ten inch minimum was lifted to reflect liberalized fishing laws and biologists note safe harvest levels.
