Clarence Shaffer Farm Identified Between Monticello and Cascade
The Clarence Shaffer farm on highway 151 halfway between Monticello and Cascade is a 60 acre site tenanted by Cliff Decker. Decker, born on the place and living there all his life, milks 20 cows, raises 200–250 hogs yearly, and keeps about 200 chickens annually. Shaffer purchased the property after his grandfather Chris Decker died. Decker has been a tenant since 1949 and the eight room all modern house is home to Cliff and his wife.
