Laurita Ann Oldfather and Ronald E Drumbarger wed in a 1 30 p m double ring ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic church officiated by Father McManus. Parents listed as Oldfather of Monticello and Drumbarger of Hopkinton. They will reside in Monticello.
The Monticello Federated Garden Club met Friday with 22 members. Roy and Mrs. Miller sent a $25 appreciation gift for beautification work, shrubs, trees, flowers, and ongoing care of beds and planters. Officers elected: President Mrs. Kromminga, VP Mrs. Howie, secretary Mrs. Rieniers, treasurer Mrs. Behrends.
Mary J. Manternach and George R. K. Whalen wed at 11 a.m. December 4 in Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church Ames with Fr. Carl Manternach officiating. The couple, both of Chicago, plan to live at 7130 S Coles in Chicago.
Mr and Mrs Glenn Behrends added dirt and barnyard fertilizer around the roses by the fountain at the pool. A copy of Americas Garden Book was purchased in appreciation of Mrs John Welter and Mrs William Hoffman and circulated among club members. Mrs Fred Kromminga provided the refreshment table arrangement. Hostesses were Mrs William Hoffman Mrs Margaret Wismier and Mrs Frank Shimanek.
