New York Magistrate Cobb found the Childs Company guilty of selling milk at 16 percent deficient in butter fats from its Fulton Street restaurant. Sentence suspended. Young Wife Dies After Illness of Only Four Days
A Brooklyn note to the Times-Press reports the death of Margarete Alida Smith, wife of Ensign Harry M. Grinton and daughter of Prof Floyd Smith, after a four day pneumonia illness in Brooklyn. Ensign Grinton with influenza for three days remains in ill health though not yet with pneumonia. The couple married in the past year at the bride’s home, making the loss deeply sorrowful.

27th Division May Join Army of Occupation
Letters from Middletown soldiers in the 107th Infantry say they do not expect to be home soon. They indicate the 27th Division, of which the 107th is part, will soon leave the British Fourth Army and join the Third American Army. New York, Dec 18. A 1916 model fire passenger car owned by Louis H Yoerk, Newark's expert steeple climber, was stolen from in front of 41 James street. He left the car briefly for tea and returned to find it missing. Police were notified and the search extended citywide but the vehicle was not located. The car contained paint, slate and rope. a diamond tire remained attached. Yoerk had just arrived in Middletown to begin roof repairs on St Pauls M E Church.

Middletown Bay Aviator Hurt In Long Flight Crash
W. Edison Kain, cadet in aviation at Ream Field California, son of Mr and Mrs Frank Kain of 52 Lake Avenue, is hospitalized after a plane in a California to New York squadron crashed in Arizona. His machine tangled in a tree before plunging to the ground, injuring him but not seriously. He has been in hospital over two weeks recovering.
