Driver Plows Picnic Crowd Killing Two and Injuring Twenty One

An 81 year old Indianapolis man, Leo M. Schulte, fatally struck two residents and injured 21 others at a Friday afternoon picnic for Americana Healthcare Center residents. Police said he backed into a second group before leaving the scene. the victims ranged from 47 to 93, with 13 over 70. Virginia Dicks and Nellie Ford, both 89 and 83, died. Schulte was later released after questioning as the case heads to a grand jury.
