Open University Opens in Britain Without Campuses
Britain launches the Open University 50 miles north of London with 95,000 students who study via TV and radio and mail assignments. Lectures, exams, and degrees will be delivered regionally, with no on campus housing or activities. The program targets nontraditional students, including older entrants, in a sprawling nationwide setup.
