Train Loss Will Hurt Cleveland Tells PACO
A Cleveland witness told the Ohio Public Utilities Commission that New York Central’s discontinuation of three passenger trains on the Cleveland Columbus Cincinnati route will harm Cleveland’s convention business. Edward C. Brennan, head of Cleveland’s Convention and Visitors Bureau, said delegates often rely on rail travel and after conventions end the rush for buses and planes swamps carriers. Law Director Ralph Locher accused NYC of withdrawing from passenger service to discourage riders. No further statements were made and hearings are set in Delaware, Middletown, Cincinnati and Columbus on specified dates.
