Circleville Pumpkin Show Opens With Big Hopes
The 67th annual Circleville Pumpkin Show, billed as Ohio’s oldest and largest festival, opens Wednesday in Circleville. Officials expect 350000 visitors over four days if weather cooperates, with highlights including a Miss Pumpkin parade, Pat Boone appearance, and contests for babies pets baton twirling and pie eating. A record squash weight from last year may be surpassed, and pumpkin treats such as pie ice cream fudge and waffles will be sold.
