Head Start expands county program to 160 children
Warren County Head Start enters its 11th year with 160 children across Franklin Lebanon South Lebanon and Waynesville centers up 40 from last year. Programs run four days weekly with planning on the fifth day. meals on site and staff include coordinators teachers and social workers.

Three new state incentive programs for local redevelopment projects will be outlined by Robert M Stutz of the Ohio Department of Economic and Community Development at 1 30 p m Oct 18 at the Trenton branch of the First National Bank of Middletown The public meeting will feature a 30 minute slide show followed by questions George Schneidler chair of the Trenton Area Commercial and Industrial Development Committee announced at last night’s City Council meeting He noted Stutz has analyzed redevelopment needs of Ohio communities and cited active use of these new laws to spur economic growth

First aid and safety course offered by Red Cross unit
The Middletown Area Chapter of the American Red Cross will teach a seven week standard first aid and personal safety course on Sundays starting October 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. at 125 S. Main St. Supplies cost 3 dollars. Call 423-9235 weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to enroll.

Pruning Workshop Scheduled at Cox Arboretum
A pruning workshop will be held October 14 at 10 a.m. in the Cox Arboretum on Ohio 741, about a mile north of Ohio 725. Sponsored by the Dayton-Montgomery County Park District, the event is free but reservations are required by calling 434-9005. Arboretum Director Bill Feldman and staff horticulturist Eric Tschanz will lead.
