Tiny lamp sacralizes Kennedy shrine in Irish farmhouse
In Dunganstown Ireland a small lamp burns beside a shrine to the Sacred Heart and a portrait of John F Kennedy. The Kennedy home stays largely unchanged as visitors arrive seeking the birthplace, while plans for a forestry school and arboretum are discussed nearby. The lamp and shrine endure as a simple monument to the martyred president kept by Mary Ann Ryan, Kennedy’s third cousin.
