Charles E Morris a 82 year old Pulitzer Prize gold medal winner and former Ohio newspaperman died Saturday in a St. Louis nursing home. He won the 1926 Pulitzer for cleansing Canton after editor Don R Melletts murder and worked at the Toledo Blade Wapakoneta Daily News Springfield Times and Canton Daily News. Morris also served as secretary to Ohio Governor James Cox and later was editor and Washington correspondent for the Ohio News League.

Vice Adm. Hyman G. Rickover was named recipient of the 1964 Enrico Fermi Award for his work on nuclear power for submarines and power plants. The Atomic Energy Commission honors include a 25000 dollar prize and a gold medal. Woman Killed in Two Car Crash Near London Ohio

Two Explorers 24 and 25 Reach Orbit From Vandenberg
Two space probes Explorer 24 and 25 were launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base at 9:09 a.m. by a four stage Scout rocket and placed into orbit. Explorer 24 is a 12 foot diameter polka dot balloon to measure upper atmosphere density and may be ground visible under certain conditions.
