Greyhound strike ends in Ohio as drivers return to work

A two day wildcat strike by Greyhound drivers in Ohio fizzled when national union leaders ordered a return to work. Service returned in Cleveland Akron and Youngstown while West Virginia remains strike active. Contracts for 13 000 Greyhound workers expired Monday night after talks stalled with a $59 million three year offer rejected by the union.

Wholesale prices rise sharply signaling inflation ahead

Government data show wholesale prices up eight tenths of a percent in October the largest gain since April. Farm prices climbed 2.4 percent as livestock fruits vegetables grains and oilseeds rose with new 1978 car and truck prices adding to the increase. consumer wages meanwhile rose 6.9 percent from May 1976 to May 1977 but inflation eroded real gains.

The Lippizan horse troupe pulls out of Madison Square Garden event as the 13 horses and caretakers battle colds.
