End Seen For Detergent Froth Across the Nation
SAM DAWSON reports that the detergent industry pledges to phase out foam causing ABS based detergents in favor of LAS. Lawmakers in Wisconsin and some communities have banned froth retaining formulations, as LAS is touted to break down more readily in sewage and streams. Industry officials say new LAS plants or upgrades will be ready by early next year and by 1965, with household cleaning performance staying the same and no extra cost to consumers.
