The Keister Support the Church series in Saturdays Journal earns its 18th award from the Freedoms Foundation marking its seventh Distinguished Service Award. In May 1955 Dr G Walter Weber became pastor of the First Baptist Church on S Main Street Middletown after serving in Akron. Since his arrival the church has grown and moved into a new building on Breiel Boulevard and Riverview Drive. He led civic efforts with numerous local and state Baptist groups and served in key roles for the American Baptist Convention and Ohio Baptist Convention. A noon reception follows morning services tomorrow in the church fellowship hall.
Tomorrow's service at Greater Missionary Baptist Church will be followed by a basket lunch on the church grounds. Reverend William Reynolds of Cincinnati will speak with musical accompaniment by the King Sisters.
A Middletown area high school senior will receive a $500 scholarship during a program tomorrow at Bethel AME Church. The event, starting at 3 30 p.m., is hosted by the South Ohio Youth Missionary.
A caravan from the Church of God will move from 409 Crawford St to 2000 N. Breiel Blvd with a 9 50 a m start. At 10 30 a m Rev J Herschel Caudill will lead the first service in the octagonal sanctuary marking a 50 year shift from the Crawford Street red brick building built by Rev B F Lawson 1917 26 memories of Caudill and past events fill the tearful farewell.
Harvey C. Bream Jr president of Cincinnati Bible College will discuss needs of the independent college at a Franklin First Church of Christ service tomorrow at 7 p.m. Come Alive Camp Quartet will provide special music. The event also marks the church’s planning milestones and upcoming dedication ceremonies.

Dayton group the Methodist Dixon singers will present a program of music tomorrow at Emmanuel Baptist Church starting at 3 30 in the afternoon.
Local and out of town choirs will perform in a music program at Lincoln Street First Church of God tomorrow starting at 4 p.m. The event features multiple choirs from the area.
Dinner reservations are being taken for the final meeting of the season of the Methodist Men's Club. Contact the church offices before Monday noon to attend Tuesday at 6 30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Speaker Tom Hamlin WHIO sports director will discuss and election of three steering committee members is on the agenda.
