Mel Kenyon Faces Unique Indy 500 Challenge
Indianapolis star Mel Kenyon, a five year Indy 500 veteran, races with a special glove strapped to his left arm after a 1965 Langhorne crash left his hand damaged. The glove clamps to the steering wheel to keep a grip as his left hand often goes numb. Kenyon has returned to top form, finishing high in past Indy 500s while noting championship cars demand more work than midgets. He plans to continue racing midgets for fun when possible. His main concern on race day remains surviving the first lap.

Frazier May Tour Japan For Singing And Fights
Tokyo promoter Toyoo Yokoyama says world boxing champion Joe Frazier could tour Japan in September for two week performances with the Knockouts and exhibition bouts against Japanese light heavies Animal Fuji and Dynamite Takigawa. Frazier would be joined by a three girl dance team the Glories. Details on finances are not disclosed.

A nine class outboard racing program will be held Sunday at Indian Lake near Russell's Point under the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce and Lakeview Businessmen's Association. Races begin at 1 p m between Midway and Lakeview with classes FE FG FI FJ SJ R U B and T. Time trials start at 10 a m.
