Armco backs U S Steel price increases on flat rolled steel
Armco Steel Corp supports the 4.8 percent rise in sheet and strip steel prices by U S Steel, calling the move long overdue. The company notes its profits for 1973 will stay within Cost of Living Council margins and expects to announce its own sheet price changes after review. U S Steel cited a $9 per ton rise for cold rolled and $8 for hot rolled steel, ending a 17 month price ceiling.
