Wounded Knee Then and Now Exhibit Recounts 1890 Siege
A New York Museum exhibit titled Wounded Knee Then and Now revisits the 1890 battle at Wounded Knee SD and the 1973 occupation by about 250 militants. The 1890 attack led by U S soldiers killed 300 Sioux, including Sitting Bull, amid Ghost Dance tensions and a planned Canadian sanctuary for Big Foot group.
