Springboro Village paved the entrance to Springboro Community Park at about 500 dollars to reduce dust complaints from nearby residents. Mayor James Eyler said a gate will be installed at the entrance and kept locked when the park is closed to stop late night driving and racing in the parking lot.
Tonight the village moves police dispatching to the new village hall at midnight while fire and rescue dispatching stays at the township firehouse. Three full time dispatchers Virginia Hirschbach Mary Stivers and Jane Thiel joined the village staff two previously served as township dispatchers. Eyler says the two operations will monitor each other and some clerical work and bond payments may shift to village staff. Police calls comprise about 90 percent of dispatch activity.
