Returning prisoner marries after six year engagement

Valley Forge Pennsylvania AP Chief Warrant Officer Joseph Rose III, just home from a Vietnam prison camp, wed his high school sweetheart Donna Steele in an Army hospital chapel. The 26 year old native of Morgantown West Virginia proposed before deployment. The ceremony followed a 15 minute Roman Catholic rite with a second kiss for cameras. Rose was captured Feb 8 1968 when his helicopter crashed en route to Da Nang. He arrived at Valley Forge General Hospital last Thursday malarial and malnourished. A judge waived the three day waiting period and the Army arranged private quarters. More than 20 friends and relatives attended with six fellow former POWs as witnesses. A honeymoon will follow after medical checks and debriefing.
