Cincinnati man to stand trial in five murders at Smith River resort
A 23 year old Cincinnati man Robert Paul Sander was ordered to stand trial in Redding July 29 for the March 2 shooting spree at Ship Ashore Motel in Smith River. Five people were killed and a sixth wounded including the couple who ran the motel and a maid. The venue change was granted due to pretrial publicity and local emotional involvement.
