Dayton AP report describes two men wounded policeman Wilbur Mullins 28 shot in the cheek with a 22 caliber bullet. They fled in the police chief’s car after a scuffle at a Moraine City bar where stolen checks were allegedly used. Mullins, in good condition at Kettering Memorial Hospital, responded to the call and exchanged fire as the suspects fled. The suspects held Chief Woods and others hostage before taking the chief’s car.
