Summer gas supplies OK despite Bicentennial
The Federal Energy Administration said gasoline supplies should be adequate for the summer including Bicentennial driving. Prices may rise about two cents per gallon seasonally, with a national average near 57.4 cents. The agency may end gasoline price controls and will respond to complaints of high prices. Demand has risen after the Arab oil embargo, with May–June 1975 consumption around 6.84 to 6.89 million barrels per day.
