Gasoline producers impose new delivery restrictions nationwide
Shell Oil and Gulf Oil joined Texaco and others in rationing gasoline deliveries amid a shortage. Shell will base station allocations on 1972 purchases with adjustments. Gulf follows a similar plan. Exxon and Union Oil also outlined quota systems. Texaco limits toll-road stations to 10 gallons for motorists while Texaco stations on toll roads cap at 35 gallons for diesel trucks. Sun Oil aims to meet about 90 percent of dealer requirements.
