Two Nixon associates tied to bank charter and land deals
Two figures linked to President Nixon are named as principals in a new bank that obtained a federal charter, though the White House says no one there was involved. Robert Abplanalp, a financier, owns much of the San Clemente land Nixon used, and William E. Griffin Jr. bought Nixon’s two Key Biscayne, Florida lots. Griffin claims no link between the bank and the land purchases.
