Cadets Train Underwater At Key West Five Days
Seventy five cadets from 51 colleges across 29 states and DC traveled to Sand Key near Key West for a five day underwater training program. They wore flippers masks and snorkels to study coral reefs and marine life while completing rubber-boat drills and scuba instruction. Cadets qualified at the Army Institute of Military Assistance Underwater Operations School by meeting athletic tests and diving for a 20 pound weight. One cadet from Georgia State University noted the fish talk helped him avoid trouble with barracuda.
