Holy Trinity Athletic Association met to discuss furnishings for the new club room in the parish gym. A parish dance on January 23 will formally open the space which honors those who died in service. A special meeting next week will set rules for club room use.

Greek government units recaptured Arakhova after a fierce fight that left guerrillas with terrific losses. Guerrillas had seized the Pinaus village Tuesday but were driven out by reinforced troops under Maj. Gen. Constantine Pappadopoulos, a veteran mountain fighter.

Survived by four sons Harold Collins Martin Wilbur, three daughters Annette Bryant Lenora Henderson Catherine Gant, one brother Mathew, three sisters Lucy Btle Rosaang Lola Wilson, four grandchildren, seven nieces, one nephew. Funeral services for Mrs Clara Elizabeth Jones aged 89 who died Wednesday at her home 2409 Grand Ave will be held Friday at 2 pm at McCoy Leffler funeral home with Rev E R Turner officiating. Burial follows at Woodside Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home Thursday 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 pm.
Andrew Benzing 86 of 709 S Ninth St Hamilton died early today at Fort Hamilton Hospital after a five day stay. He founded A Benzing and Sons Co and led the firm until eight years ago. He helped build projects from Rentschler Building to Mercy Hospital and schools. Survived by Emma wife two sons Gordon and Clifford three brothers and two grandchildren. Services 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Webb funeral home and 2 p.m. at Ninth Street Evangelical United Brethren Church. Burial Bevis Cemetery.
Carlisle James Shupert, 85, died early today at the home of his daughter Mrs Walter Talmadge in Carlisle after a fall that left him confined for weeks. Survived by daughter, a grandchild, a brother Peter and sister Anna of Germantown. Funeral Sunday at 2 pm at a Germantown cemetery residence. friends may call after Friday evening. Ohio Fuel Gas Company ordered 100 percent curtailment of industrial supplies in central Ohio with last reserves at Toledo and Mt. Sterling to be cut today to sustain domestic service. East Ohio Gas reduced deliveries to about 600 industrial customers while residential service remains. Manufacturers Light and Heat cut 85 percent to 32 Ohio valley cities. Cincinnati Gas and Electric faced demand but reported being hard pressed as temperatures ranged above and below freezing across multiple cities. Virgil Rose of 846 Ninth Ave was discharged from Middletown Hospital after a shooting weeks earlier. William Cox of 819 Ninth Ave, his business partner, was arraigned in Municipal Court and ordered held for the Butler County Grand Jury on a charge of shooting with intent to kill, entering a not guilty plea.
