Pay Raises For City Workers Unlikely In Checks Ou2 Thursday
City workers have speculated on annual raises but officials indicate no raise will be issued now. A $240 Christmas bonus was given, with many hoping for a $20 monthly raise, but no action was taken on temporary first quarter appropriations. City receipts rise modestly, while safety departments spend on new gear. Payrolls for the first pay day of the year are ready and workers may wait to petition again.
