Teen Agers Split on Bossa Nova Its Fate in Poll
A nationwide poll of a thousand teens finds unclear familiarity with the Bossa Nova and mixed views on its appeal. Many teens, mostly on the East Coast, like its beat and Latin flavor while a sizable minority dislike its quirky rhythm. Only about half the girls and 42 percent of the boys endorse the music, and dancing enthusiasm remains low. Some see potential beyond teens, while others doubt it will catch on like the Twist. Major opinions come from teens across Connecticut, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, and Florida.
