Kentucky Big Clock sparks puns and publicity
In Frankfort Kentucky Gov Bert Combs clocked a floral timepiece on the capitol grounds drawing gibes from foes and fans alike. The 54 foot diameter flower clock tilted 26 degrees weighs 100 tons and features 20000 to 30000 plants changing twice yearly. It costs about 59000 to 250000 depending on who you ask and draws steady tourism. Coins in the wishing pool aid child welfare programs and traffic counts average 10000 vehicles daily near the clock.
