Sunday Arrests In Cincinnati Under Sunday Closing Law
Cincinnati and Hamilton County police cited eight businessmen for keeping stores open on Sunday in a major enforcement day. Officials named include West End Hardware Co Saxony Imports Ben's Kent Store and Van Leunen's Chinatown. County deputies issued summons to Econ-Fair Ontario Store and two Arlan's department stores. The merchants must appear in Police Court January 10 and county summons December 19.

FINDLAY Ohio AP City police arrested 11 persons Sunday for violating Sunday closing law. Three were teenagers. The crackdown over three Sundays has now netted 16 arrests. Two men, managers of carryouts, were charged with selling 3.2 beer. The nine others were charged with selling Christmas trees in a garden center, including three teens ages 19 and 17.

Budget On Agenda At Franklin
Franklin City Manager Leland B. Orendorff will present the 1963 city budget to council tonight. An ordinance cutting water rates by 10 percent for 1963 and three other ordinances cover the citys $121800 curb gutter and street improvement project. The notes will be issued in anticipation of bonds to fund the project. Passing these ordinances will allow the city to proceed with the street work in a first class manner.

Ocean Studies Start Tubular Lab Off Nice France
A 50 yard long floating laboratory was eased into the sea to begin a new series of experiments led by ocean explorer Yves Cousteau. The 250 ton tube will ballast to float vertically with the top above the sea and sit above an 8,000 foot trench between Nice and Calvi while scientists observe with instruments on its levels.
