Scout Leaders Plan Meeting to Review Units
Earl Klein Middletown district commissioner called a Thursday night meeting in the Civic Association building. He urged each commissioner to report on their units to give an overall picture of Boy Scout status. Parker said scouts will continue tagging Christmas trees and will help police control pedestrian traffic in the business district on Saturday December 28.

Insurance Offices Close At Noon December 24
All insurance offices of Middletown will close at noon December 24 following a decision by the Middletown Association of Fire and Casualty Underwriters at their Monday meeting. Tom Walburg led a round table discussion with 16 members present.

CEI production up 57 percent but earnings lag
Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company reported 57 percent higher production in 1947 over 1941, yet earnings growth lagged, officials told the State Utilities Commission during a second day of hearings on a rate increase. The CEI project would raise net revenue by about 2.78 million dollars annually for 2,500 large commercial customers in northeastern Ohio. Non utility industries rose 15 percent in 1947 over 1941 per Federal Reserve data.
