City seeks delay in methadone decision at Unity House
City officials ask the Butler County 648 Board to postpone a decision on methadone licensing for Unity House at Middletown Drug Treatment Center until January to review positions and gain consensus. Supporters say methadone aids heroin users and reduces crime while opponents fear harm and nonhospital control. The board has often denied a license, though a 3 member ad hoc committee urged reconsideration based on an outpatient clinic plan.
