Man accused in Nixon threat surrenders quietly in New Mexico
Edwin M. Gaudet, a former New Orleans officer, surrendered in Bernalillo County awaiting a court appearance after a three day mountain search. The 29 year old faces a federal charge for allegedly threatening President Nixon with a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $1,000 fine. Gaudet told reporters he would consult his attorney before commenting.
