Wholesale prices increased 0.6 percent in March, the Labor Department reported, suggesting annual inflation near seven percent if the March rate continues. Food and consumer goods saw smaller gains, while pork, poultry, sugar, and fruit eased. Economists expect some of these rises to reach shoppers soon.

The Ohio Supreme Court ruled that Maribel Finnell must wait until her death to bequeath inherited rights in Dr. Samuel Hartman’s $8.5 million patent medicine estate. Hartman, who built wealth selling Peruna, died in 1918. Finnell, 80, is the last Hartman grandchild with two children, Michael and Patricia Kulha, while about 300 indirect descendants opposed moving the trust now.
