Weekend surgery PROMOTED by Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas flight

Mine Workers Return to Jobs After Long Strike

Washington AP reports mine construction workers end a 121 day stoppage after ratifying a contract. United Mine Workers Vice President Sam Church announced the accord by a 2 to 1 margin and said telegrams would tell 10,000 workers to return today to join 160,000 UMW miners who ended an 111 day strike on March 27.

Tonight brings showers and mild temperatures with a low near 50. Thursday features continued showers and a high in the low 60s. This morning was 40 with yesterday’s high 68. Showers may persist into Friday, then fair skies for Saturday and Sunday as lows dip to upper 30s to lower 40s and highs reach the low to mid 60s.

City fathers relent save women's toilet in Jackson

In Jackson Minnesota a six member city council voted unanimously to keep the municipal women's toilet and lounge open after a six week survey showed about 300 women used it. Residents filled petitions and letters opposing the January closure to save about $4,500 yearly.
