Orphan Ben Reaches Safer Home After Flight From Saigon

Merle and Barbara Fischlowitz welcomed Ben to their Silver Spring home marking their fourth wedding anniversary. The 18 month old arrived in Washington after a dramatic Tan Son Nhut airport flight, becoming one of the first 50 orphans to reach the United States. Ben explored his new surroundings with a stuffed puppy, ate eagerly after a bath, and began to adjust to English with his adoptive parents guiding him.
