A four man party led by D N Bailey and including Dr Driper W I Shaw and T K Beyea traveled from Ellenville by Midland cars to pigeon roosts in Ulster Co. They faced fire barriers and dense smoke on the mountains but returned safely, reporting 275 pigeons captured and few injuries despite near escapes.

Re-Dedication of Presbyterian Church at Westtown

The Presbyterian Church of Westtown was re dedicated after major rebuilding and enlargement. The ceremony on Thursday featured ministers D C Niven Luther Littell Chas Beattie and Wendell Prime with a new choir hymn program. The debt of 1500 was fully paid and architect Samuel H Wilcox guided the design. A brief history traces the church from 1790 to 1867 with several pastors including D C Niven.

Boy Mauled by Ox Near Suffern in Narrow Escape

On Sunday the 6th the son of John Quackenbush near Suffern tied to an ox led to water. The frightened animal ran a quarter mile dragging the boy. Rescued in a mangled, nearly clothing-free state he was in critical condition and apparently dead.
