The Middletown Evening Press announces delivery by carriers for ten cents a week and four cents per single copy. Mail subscriptions are $4.00 per year, $2.00 for six months, and $1.00 for three months. Postage by mail is fifteen cents per quarter. The Orange County Press is published weekly each Friday morning at $2.00 per year in advance.
Mr A B Deming is the general agent for the Middletown Evening Press in Middletown and will handle village delivery and collections biweekly. Single copies may be bought at Deming's Morgan and Sloat's and Vail's Bookstore for four cents.

Discovery of numerous bones near Otisville confirms they come from a mastodon. Excavations reveal ribs vertebrae two rounded bones two wedge-shaped bones about two feet long, and a large fore leg piece about two feet eleven inches by four ten inches, weighing forty five pounds. Some bones lay in order. efforts to locate remaining parts continue.
The Milford music class under E G Fowler of the Tri States Union has about 80 members and is progressing well. Sweezy’s schools at Cuddebackville and Huguenot flourish with rapid musical study. DeWitt conducts a singing school near Bloomingburgh and broader music education is expected across common schools.
Patrons of home talent invited to Operetta Genevieve at the Opera House Monday evening February 12. Middletown Cricket Club to mark the Father of his Country birthday February 22 with a grand ball at Slauson Hall. The masquerade ball returns to Empire Hall Unionville February 14 with Hallock's band providing music.
Since the Wallkill Lyceum was founded, weekly Tuesday meetings in the Classical Department of the Academy have been disrupted by miscreants. At the latest gathering windows were broken and noise caused. A ten dollar reward is offered for information leading to the guilty parties' identification and conviction.
Valentine Seaman repurchases the old Hurd farm from Edward K Board for 16,000. Edward K Board buys the Moffat homestead, one half mile from Washingtonville on the Goshen road, 150 acres, for 19,000.

Ustayantha lodge of Port Jervis held a Wednesday meeting for the exemplification of the secret work. Edwin B. Charles Geron built a fine dwelling above the village this season.
Two deaths were reported in Sparrowbush last week Mrs Stocum buried Friday and Walter Conine buried Sunday after services by Rev Mills of Port Jervis. The Methodist Society bought Erastus Caskey property for 1500 dollars for a parsonage and sold church lot to Coley Banks for a new store. Regular revival meetings remain lively but not fully successful. A variety wedding is planned and a dog attack injured several sheep. A children’s dramatic exhibition drew praise.
In Pleasant Hill the wife of Samuel Raynor suffered a severe hemorrhage of the lungs with doubts of recovery. The Rev. A P Jay, rector of Christ's Church Warwick, has begun weekly Thursday services in the local schoolhouse and seeks to extend his ministry in the area for usefulness.

Death of Hon William M Seeley of Broome County reported from his Binghamton residence on Tuesday morning from pneumonia at age 53. Seeley served in the Assembly in 1868 and the four subsequent years and was regarded as a good citizen and honest politician by his constituents.
A stormy Tuesday evening gathering at the Denton Presbyterian parsonage honored Rev. O. M. Johnson with a purse of 205 dollars. Elders and friends praised his more than thirty years of pastoral service as refreshments and entertainment accompanied the event.
