Train Wreck on Lehigh Valley Line Kills Five
A passenger train near Mauch Chunk Pennsylvania was wrecked by a broken rail on February 1. Two cars were thrown down a 30 foot embankment, five people died instantly and twenty were injured, four of whom later died. Only two passengers escaped injury and the wounded were cared for by company officers.
